Efrat in Wonderland: Factually incorrect, purposefully contrarian
Bret and Efrat's take on Hamas and Iran is meant do be purposefully contrarian, factually incorrect and even siding with Hamas and Iran while claiming the exact opposite.
There is a powerful technique that shows, whether people were brainwashed. When there are sudden changes in the overall expression of the human face, one should always check carefully at least the factual content of what the people are saying. The same applies to sudden Freudian mishaps.
And because this is something solid, we can start to analyze Bret and Efrat's take from there:
At the very start Efrat accuses Israeli society for attacks she faced for showing empathy. In reality Israel faces numerous terror attacks, while the very flag under which these attack are being financed was flown in Israeli streets and universities. One has to ask: Where is the empathy and where already starts the embracement of terror in Anat Kam or Vanunu style? Moreover, to make this point completely clear: There are examples of real empathy without embracement of terror. Just look up Arabic singing of Sarit Haddad, Zahava Ben, Ziv Yehezkel, Dudu Tassa, Riff Cohen and of course Yoni Sharon alias Abu Table to name a few. There is even real lecture on this in Hebrew and Arabic translated into English. Just read. Just look it up. Just learn! Do not talk nonsense!
There are a lot of poor people in Gaza. But Efrat and Bret somehow forgot Hamas and others are very rich using the riches of international aid to Gaza for themselves. Isn’t that an important and interesting detail? Why to shield the most murderous and heinous regime from the critique they do not spare the Israeli population that was just murdered in a way known from death camps?
Efrat is factually incorrect about the very start of Hamas. Hamas has set up only in 1987. She did not mention that rise of Hamas was boosted when Peres and Rabin have brought homosexual mass murderer Yasser Arafat after his mission has completely failed. They did it to make Israel less Jewish as was openly stated by the archpriest of Oslo Ron Pundak before he passed away.
Previous breaches of the security fence. Efrat brings completely outdated picture to say the least. Breaches of the fence are notorious and in public domain. Israeli army was handcuffed by extreme leftist court decisions, forced into sacrificing lives of Israelis. Hamas in past years had invaded people’s houses, harmed and killed Israeli civilians and soldiers behind the fence deep in Israeli territory. It is notoriously known, Efrat and Bret have failed factually on that account.
At one point Efrat went even so far to blame Jews living in Judea and Samaria for lack of securing the fence. This was extremely hateful and hurtful. Jewish children in Gaza, Judea and Samaria were the first to be killed, yet they are described in the video as if they were not human. It is exactly this dehumanization of (some) Jews, that has brought us where we are today. Efrat cannot at the same time preach empathy to Hamas and hate to Jews living in Judea and Samaria. Not fair. Not good. Not right. Not sexy. Extremely hurtful, simplistic, divisive and historically incorrect. When Jews lived in Gaza strip, there was much less violence than today, Jews were ethnically cleansed from Gaza strip (again not a word about that in the show) and now we have these death factories set up by Hamas. At that point the video was just a hateful rant against real, living, practicing Jews. Not something Bret and Efrat should be proud about.
The take on Iranian regime was completely shallow. Iranian regime is known decades of not claiming credit for their actions. Secrecy is very much the pattern of that regime since the very start. That is how they did the Islamic revolution in Iran. Yet it is being portrayed almost as if ayatollahs in Teheran were claiming credit for everything they do. The opposite is true. Long term secrecy pretty much forever is the hallmark of that regime.
At a certain point Efrat has a problem to recover from her memory one word: Hegemony. No wonder she cannot remember, when she at that very moment is actually imposing hegemony of the nations over Israel. The word hegemon exists in Hebrew for thousands of years at least since the Greek occupation of Israel.
The take on slavery: The proposed Schwab regime is more into a concentration camp style than into slavery. While biblical slave had some rights, namely it was forbidden to murder him and even for one teeth kicked oud he is free to go, c19 utilization of people actually has the potential to make us a repository of ready to use transplants. We were shown, this is not about slavery, but rather about our bodies.
At one point Bret and Efrat went even as far as to contemplate how Hamas raid could have been more effective. I was like: “Do not master that point. Do You really want to become a Hamas think tank for free?” This is Hamas, they kill people and are effective in killing people. They believe they deserve 70 virgins for that. How far out of reality do You want to get?
Secrecy of army ops and failures is inherent in every functional army. Manning is an anomaly. Not something normal. Army secrecy does not point to anything. It is just army being army. Non-secretive army is a nonsense. Moreover Israeli army did not know for years even about Syrian nuclear arms program! The very notion that Efrat is showing, that intel knows it all, is both flawed and creating exactly these failures. Efrat is showing her overconfidence! That is how these failures do happen! The overconfidence is the answer.
Efrat is playing down the whole event as if it was new, but normal that Jews are being slaughtered by several hundreds a day. That cannot stand of course. It is clearly a manipulation. Bret is doing nothing balance this absolute moral relativism. This was much worse for Israel that Pearl Harbour or 9/11 to US. Bret even goes as far as talking about border with Gaza. There is no border. There is just a fence, not very reliable one. Bret clearly even does not know that.
The whole show ends by Bret’s secular program spitting at the Torah and practicing Jews for their lives, explaining how memes are superior to genes. There is nothing rational about that. This program of his is completely arbitrary and again divisive. He is hardly going to convince this way anybody to date a non Jewish maiden. Not even Efrat, although she may say amen to that in order not to spoil the party.
This was clearly not adhering to truth or critical thinking or science, it was all about contrafactual baseless speculations, lack of knowledge and divisiveness. If Bret wants to understand, he should at least learn some Hebrew and Arabic, get the facts straight, understand the modus operandi of main players there and their motivations. Otherwise this will backfire badly.
Truth means at least being precise.
